5 THINGS TO DO THAT ISN'T SCROLLING ON YOUR PHONE
I have a problem, I LOVE SCROLLING. I can’t help it, it feels so good – each new reel is like an unopened present waiting to be unwrapped. BUT gosh, my brain feels so scrambled. I can’t think straight, I don’t know what / who I should be, do I want my vibe to be London girly pop, do I want it to be techno C**T core, what about whimsical farm lady???? ITS TOO MUCH.
As humans, we were not actually meant to know that this many other humans exist, this many beautiful, cool, amazing, talented humans exist. It’s overwhelming and sends me into a hole of self-hate and comparison. SO, here are 5 things I’ve picked up to stop my addiction, or at least lessen it…
1 – TAKING TIME WITH MY COOKING AND BEING MINDFUL ABOUT WHAT IM CONSUMING
I tend to eb and flow between my cooking phases, but that’s okay. I find it is almost therapeutic for me – not only flavouring the food, cooking it until it’s perfect – but also the art of plating (I say this, but I am no Michelin star plater), it doesn’t have to look perfect, or even good, it just must feel good. You might say, oh, it’s too expensive to cook all the time or time consuming when you’re tired after work but trust me the time is worth it.
Here are some of my recent meal ideas:

SNACK PLATEEEEE, basically anything you have leftover in the fridge, my recent was: saurkraut, olives, beetroot, hummus, crackers, peppers, cucumber, pickles, leftover chicken - THE FAMOUS TUNA BOWL - my go to for a quick but healthy dinner: microwave rice, cucumber, tuna, spring onion, crispy onion, sweetcorn, olives, beetroot, avocado, saurkraut, siracha and mayonaise.
- BEEF TACOOOOOS, so quick and easy: onions, garlic, beef, peppers, cheese, mini wrap, lettuce / leaves, sweetcorn, hot sauce
- YUMMIE CHICKEN SALAD, usually salads bore me, but if you make the chicken extra tasty, it's less boring, lol: chicken, balsamic glaze, salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne pepper, mustard, leaves, cucumber, tomato, sweetcorn, peppers, olives, feta, pickles, avo

2 – RANDOM HOBBY - TIGHTS / SOCKS PRINTING!!!!
I actually found this idea on Pinterest, and I became fixated on it. I have that issue, I see something, I become obsessed with it, and usually forget about it a week later. But for some reason with this – it stuck. I hosted a few workshops with you guys and it was soooo cute!!!
How to:
Step 1 – Buy some meshy white tights / socks – usually made from a spandex polyester material. I got these ones - https://amzn.eu/d/7qkhYin
Step 2 – Get your images and make a collage on the app SCRL, I just screenshot images from Pinterest – you must print them out on sublimation paper, usually you can find a seller on Esty to do this for super cheap – just type it up.
Step 3 – Grab a mini-iron / heat press machine, they’re £15-£20 on Amazon, worth it, trust me.
Step 4 – You now have all your components, start cutting out your images and place them where you want, make sure your heater isn’t on full heat as you don’t want to risk melting the tights / socks!
Step 5 – Get printing, its’ soooo satisfying.
Step 6 – TA DAAA, you have made your completely unique pair of tights / socks <3
3 – GO TO THE GYM
What the hell, I literally just discovered that the gym exists, and I LOVE IT. I was so scared to go for my whole 22 years of living, but I did it, I finally went, and now I can’t stop. Not only is it great for your health, but it’s even better for your mind – I know everyone says it, but there’s a reason why.
Here’s my usual routine:
- 20-30 mins on the treadmill, incline 12 on speed 5.5 for 15 mins of walking, and then I change to speed 8 and incline 0 for the last 15 mins.
- Play around with the fun machines for like 20 mins, I usually do the leg press thing on 24KG and do 3 x 15, the funny abs machine on 18kg for 3 x 15 and then some random ones on whatever I can do lol. I am new to this ok.
- Go into the studio and do a little workout from YouTube, focus on one thing each time you go – abs, bum, legs, or arms – switch it up.
- Last thing is I do the Stairmaster for 5-10 mins, I HATE IT but it’s so good for you lol.
- Spend 5-10 mins stretching your body – otherwise the next day will not be good for you.
Super easy and chilled, but puts your mind in a nice space.
4 – WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR FUTURE SELF
If anything, I find myself in unrelenting bouts of sonder and introspection, but I don’t see it as a negative. I think that, taking time and energy out of your normal schedule, to focus on you, past future and present – is super beneficial. Especially when feeling all blurry brained.
Once a month, write a letter to yourself, talk about the last month, what happened? How it has made you feel? How did you react and how did that effect the present? Do you think you can improve on anything? Speak about the future, what do you want to achieve? How will you do this and how will you self-congratulate?
Write it out, put it in an envelope and plan to open at a specific date, a birthday, exactly 365 days later… whatever you want!
5 – CHANGE YOUR SPACE!!
Recently, my brain had been a bit squiff, I needed to switch something up but I couldn’t pin point exactly what it was that needed changing, was it my career, my personal relationships, the way I deal with things, the clothes I wear?! All the things we, as humans question often, especially in our ripe 20’s… space, CHANGE IT AROUND!!
A few easy ways to change your space;
- Move the bed to the other side of the room
- Re-organise your clothes storage
- Get a new rug
- Make some art for the walls
- Change the lighting in your space, make it warm, cosy and inviting
- Spring clean!
- Honestly, Facebook marketplace for some free cool bits to jazz it up – add some character / new energy to your world.
This life thing is hard sometimes, and it’s so easy to fall into the world of social media, constant comparison, and an eye into people’s worlds, that really, we as humans weren’t built to see, nor comprehend. Just remember that nothing really matters, and everyone is as weird and brainy as each other, most just don’t show it!!!!
